The i2CAT Foundation public Multiconferencing system offers an open environment for multiconferencing between H.323, SIP, Skype and PSTN/GSM terminals/softphones.

The easiest way to join one of the public MCU's room is using a H.323 terminal registered at an international GDS configured gatekeeper or the i2CAT Foundation gatekeeper.

To configure the i2CAT Foundation gatekeeper you must go to the configuration menu of your system and in the H.323 options specify the IP of the gatekeeper:

  • IP: gk.i2cat.net (84.88.32.8)

Depending on our terminal you can access the rooms by different ways:

  • If you call from an H.323 terminal registered to a gatekeeper:
    • If you are using the i2CAT's Gatekeeper dial the Conference ID.
    • If you are using other Gatekeeper dial the GDS Number.
  • If you call from an H.323 terminal without registered to a gatekeeper, you can reach them directly by dialing the MCU IP (84.88.32.9) and by choosing the room using remote control.
  • If you call from a SIP terminal o Softphone:
    • From a i2CAT SIP Account you can reach the room dialing the SIP Extension.
    • From other SIP Account you can reach the room dialing the SIPUri.
  • If you call from Skype, add and call the user "i2cat.fundacio", then dial the SIP Extension with the DTMF keyboard of Skype.
  • If you use PSTN or GSM, you can call to the SIP-PSTN Gateway (+34935525315 or +34935525687 or +34935526612), then dial the SIP Extension.

IMPORTANT: Skype, PSTN and GSM access only supports audio transmissions.

Watching the Streaming

For watch the streaming you must join this URL: http://mcu.i2cat.net/streaming.html On this page fill the Sign-in name and the first Conference ID (i.e 0001) fields, then select your Operating System on Streaming Rate and then click "Stream this conference" button.

Windows users must donwload the codec if Windows Media Player is unable to process the media stream. (The download link is below the video)
